Poet Tongue: A Journey

While I realize posting about your own book may seem pompous, I urge you to continue before you shut your browser and never give this blog another thought.

I believe my journey as a writer has evolved from something for myself, to something I can give to others. Writing, as for most people, is therapeutic, but I never thought how much words can transform a person.

Going through high school was one of the toughest times of my life. I wasn't bullied , but I was looked at as an easy target. I didn't have a social clique to belonged to.

But I did have books.

Books took me to worlds outside of the dirty high school walls, to oceans with mermaids, or forests with howling werewolf boys. Books became my savior.

The first time I picked up a pen to create my own worlds and people was when my heart was broken for the first time. I was a wreck. I was so attached to this person who didnt reciprocate my love, that it killed me when he texted "We're done."

So Poet Tongue was born.

In a moment where I was wasting away in my pain, my first book, which took years to develop finally became available to the public. From there, numerous short stories flew from my pen to paper and poems poured from my heart.

The main idea I want you guys to understand is don't let your pain stop you from living. Turn it into art. Paint, write, sculpt, just create. Let your emotions flow into a medium. Whether you had a bad break up, got fired, or are at the lowest point, pain can become the most beautiful pieces of literature, poetry, or paintings.

Through my writing, my pain in passed years, I wish to help others overcome their toughest mental challenges. I believe anyone can inspire. All you have to do is pick up a brush, a pen, any tool, and let your pain become the most beautiful piece imaginable.
